Yunnan Atmospheric Sounding Technology Support Center
Temperature and Water Vapor Profiling Radiometer (SMR-100)
In order to further carry out research on the change mechanism and forecasting method of the quasi-stationary front in Kunming, the Yunnan Provincial Atmospheric Sounding Technology Support Center established a new vertical observation system innovation team, using wind profiler radar, millimeter wave cloud measuring radar, microwave radiation in Maitreya and other places in eastern Yunnan. A one-year joint observation experiment was carried out with a variety of vertical observation equipment, such as radiometer, aerosol lidar, meteorological multi-element long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle, among which the SMR-100 ground-based microwave radiometer provided 0-10Km high-altitude vertical Meteorological elements such as profile temperature, humidity and water vapor can be observed unattended 24 hours a day, providing a major guarantee for this experiment instead of traditional sounding methods.
SMR-100 ground-based microwave radiometer is a ground-based microwave remote sensing device that uses passively receiving microwave signals of atmospheric radiation from various heights to judge changes in atmospheric temperature and humidity. Fog, freezing and boundary layer turbulence have a good monitoring effect. Ground-based microwave radiometer for temperature, humidity and liquid water in tropospheric profile, weather and climate model research, nowcasting atmospheric stability (severe weather detection), temperature inversion to detect fog, air pollution, has become a sounding balloon and weather radar important means of detection. The ground-based microwave radiometer is suitable for automatic weather stations because of its independent working ability and the ability to work under almost various environmental conditions. It is often used to invert complete atmospheric profiles. User-defined or global standard algorithms.
